Freddy’s in Athens opens Tuesday

ATHENS, Texas – Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers®, a fast-casual restaurant concept, opens Tuesday, June 27, at 1305 Flat Creek Rd. Freddy’s is known for its cooked-to-order steakburgers made with lean 100 percent ground beef, all-beef hot dogs, crispy shoestring fries and frozen custard treats made with freshly churned chocolate or vanilla frozen custard.

“Freddy’s is known as a better burger restaurant,” said Jason Jones, franchise owner. “We provide high quality, cooked-to-order menu items in a fun and comfortable environment. When you walk in, you can expect a warm greeting, and you’ll experience genuine hospitality the ‘Freddy’s Way.’ Our menu is customizable and many of our regular guests enjoy crafting the perfect dish of custard with their favorite toppings. We look forward to serving this vibrant community.”

The 3,400 square-foot, freestanding restaurant seats 88 guests, has additional seating on the patio and drive-thru service. Mobile ordering through the Freddy’s app and website is also available. Hours of operation are 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

“Many of our guests are interested to learn that frozen custard is denser, richer and creamier than ice cream, due to a churning process that eliminates ice crystals and excess air,” said Jones. “We churn it fresh on-site several times throughout the day. The Signature Turtle Sundae is a fan favorite that combines hot fudge and hot caramel atop vanilla custard with salted pecans and, of course, whipped cream and a cherry.”
